How would I best describe what I make?
I think my music doesn't belong anywhere. (And I'd be embarrassed if it resembled something else?)
Narrative sound theater - I would call it. Just repetitive enough not to frighten the listener too much and always with new surprises.
I play an EMS VCS3 mk II (Robin Wood) and an A ks (Vintage Original 1973).
Why? No cables are required with the EMS - everything remains clearly arranged. It has some clumsy filters (not as perfect as those from Buchla or Oberheim) but it has a beautiful “embouchure”. Direct changes in the program can easily be done with an EMS and that has already helped me a lot when improvising.
Improvising is what I have been doing for over 50 years now with musicians from all over the world!
These are always singers or acoustic musicians. I wouldn't dare to list them all for fear of forgetting someone, but they are all wonderful memories.

From school I am with the “reine elektronische Musik” (1)(pure electronic Music) which is - as you all know - opposed to the “musique concrète” - That simply means that we believe that every sound must come from the inside of a synthesizer or a computer. And that no pre-recorded sounds can be used.
